YOUTH & ADOLESCENT MENTAL & BEHAVIORAL HEALTH RESOURCES

The Trevor Project (Suicide Prevention)

What started as an Academy Award winning film about LGBTQ youth in crisis quickly morphed into a support network for LGBTQ youth facing mental health issues, bullying and suicidal tendencies. The 24 hour crisis hotline, workshops for training support teams on how to give LGBTQ youth the resources that they need, and the network of members who facilitate events, resources and support needed by LGBTQ youth are all vital for giving hope to those youth, especially when they are contemplating suicide.

The website for the National Alliance on Mental Illness. This link connects you to the LGBTQ section of NAMI, including: Mental Health issues for LGBTQ youth, dealing with prejudice and stigma, recognizing and working with suicidal tendencies, and the risks of addiction and substance abuse.
