Primary – (Required):
Abali et. al Biochemistry, 8th ed. Lippincott’s Illustrated Reviews: Biochemistry, Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2021. Online at LWW Health.
Lippincott is an excellent review text that doesn’t cover some topics in sufficient depth. In previous years, we have required a complete biochemistry text. You are strongly encouraged to use a complete text, but we are not assigning one this year, in response to comments from the SCME and because many of you have a text from your undergraduate studies. We have included readings from Devlin’s “Textbook of Biochemistry” for some sessions because these were listed in prior years when this was a required text. If you use another text, it is up to you to find the relevant readings.
We can also suggest an online text: Kennelly, PJ, et al. Harper’s Illustrated Biochemistry. 32nd edition. McGraw-Hill Education, 2023. ISBN: 978-1-260-46994-3; Online at AccessMedicine.
Stryer, L. Stryer’s Biochemistry, 9th ed., W. H. Freeman, 2019.
HEC. QU 4 S928b9 2019 (9th ed.)
8th ed. ISBN: 978-1464126109
Supplemental:
Devlin, T. Textbook of Biochemistry with Clinical Correlations, 7th ed. Wiley & Sons, 2011.
HEC/Allen Reserve: QU 4 T355t7 2011
Other comprehensive biochemistry texts are acceptable, (Stryer, Voet and Voet, Lehninger, etc)
