Introduction to the Open Science Framework

This Guide is an introduction to the Open Science Framework.

Steps to Create a Project

OSF projects are the largest form of categorization that OSF supports. A project can be an experiment, a lab group, or a paper—anything that has contributing members and files or explanatory texts/images.

  1. Create A New Project
  2. Enter A Title
  3. Add An Institutional Affiliation (Optional)
  4. Choose A Storage Location
  5. Enter A Description
  6. Complete Your Project

Create a Project from a Template

You can create a new project using another project's structure as a template. When you use a project as a template, the project along with any components and their titles will be copied to the new project. Only the structure will be duplicated and not the content.

  1. Use One Of Your Projects As A Template
  2. Use A Public Project As A Template
