Poster Presentations

How to create and present a research poster.

Purpose

Researchers create posters to communicate the findings of a research project in a quick, engaging, and visually appealing way. Poster sessions allow researchers to share their main findings with attendees, get feedback on their project, and network with others in their field.

Check the Requirements

Before designing a poster, check the conference's poster session requirements on the conference website or in the "call for proposals."

Consider This

Before creating a poster, consider the following questions:

  • What is the most important/interesting/astounding finding from my research project?
  • How can I visually share my research with conference attendees? Should I use charts, graphs, photos, images?
  • What kind of information can I convey during my talk that will complement my poster?
