Cleveland Health Sciences Library - Quick Guide

A brief guide to finding & accessing library resources

Quick Start - PubMed

Go to Pubmed (this is a custom URL that connects to CWRU library holdings).

You can also find links on the CHSL homepage in the sidebar:

Or with the PubMed tab in the Search box.

Full Text Access - PubMed

When searching in Pubmed without using the custom CHSL URL, you may notice publisher links on the right hand side of the page. These publisher links are marketing icons to quickly transfer you to the publisher page: they do not guarantee that CWRU patrons have access:

However, if you use the custom CHSL URL, it will add a Full-Text Finder button to each Pubmed record that links patrons back to the library holdings.

CHSL has also implemented LibKey Link (as an enhancement to the Full Text Finder button)  to quickly get CWRU patrons to subscribed resources and reduce clicks. For those vendors that support LibKey Link, the Full Text Finder button will instantly open the article PDF. Not all vendors support this service however, so for those vendors the FTF button will link you to a landing page where you can search the CWRU eJournal portal or click on the appropriate interlibrary loan department to submit a request.

Fun Fact: If you have the DOI for an article and want to quickly find out if we have access, just add the DOI to the CHSL Libkey Prefix.

CHSL Prefix: https://libkey.io/libraries/292/

DOI No:     10.1056/NEJMoa041588
